Color of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity – Flower Inspiration

Color of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity – Flower Inspiration

Every year we love seeing what Pantone chooses for their color of the year and for 2016 they did not disappoint! Not only did they choose a beautiful color, but they decided to pick TWO colors to represent 2016 Color of the Year – Rose Quartz and Serenity.

Pantone 2016 Color of the Year

I love how they went softer this year and chose two colors that balance each other. They describe it so perfectly:

“Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times.”  – Pantone

Indeed it has and will continue to be tough times ahead for our world, but the beauty in colors and nature can give us some respite! The calming colors have a warm and soothing feel to them and we’re excited to share with you our pick of flowers that are inspired by Pantone’s Color of the year.

There are so many pink flowers that are a close match to Rose Quartz, so we selected a few of our favorites. For Serenity, there are fewer blue flowers to choose from, but we shared some of our favorites and included some that are inspired by the color, but have a stronger periwinkle and lavender tones. If we’re missing one that you love, let us know!

We hope this board can provide some inspiration if you’re planning a wedding or event this year. The colors are pretty perfect for a baby shower too! ;)

Let us know what you think and we’re looking forward to seeing more Rose Quartz and Serenity this year! If you want to see previous colors of the year, you can find them here or check out all our boards inspired by Pantone’s spring and fall color picks!

I like your post. Flowers are symbolic of beauty, love and tranquillity. They form the soul of a garden and convey the message of nature to man. Flowers and objects of aesthetic, ornamental, social, religious and cultural value.
