We made it through February and I don’t know about you, but I’m happy that March is here! That means the madness of Valentine’s Day is over and Spring is on its way! It’s personally my favorite season for flowers because there is such an abundance of flower types and colors that are available. For our March 2018 calendar, we feature a classic spring flower – hyacinths – in a stunning pink peach color.
For those less familiar with hyacinths, you’re probably used to seeing them in mostly white, lavender, and violet purple colors. But you can also find hyacinths in pink shades – from pale blush colors to a vibrant bright pink – and harder to find yellow and peach colors. They are a gorgeous spring season flower and most varieties have a distinct heady fragrance that you either love or hate!
Hyacinths are also one of the few flowers that you do NOT want to cut! They’ll have the best vase life if they are kept with the stem intact. It sounds counter intuitive, but you can read our hyacinth care and handling tips to learn why you don’t want to cut the stems.
If you’re looking for a dose of spring, check out our hyacinth collection where we have a variety of colors available. Also, keep an eye out on our blog as we’ll be bringing you more spring time inspiration and flower knowledge!
