2018 Color of the Year: Ultra Violet – Flower Inspiration

2018 Color of the Year: Ultra Violet – Flower Inspiration

Happy 2018! I hope you’ve had a great start to the year and we’re excited to see what this new year brings. One new thing is the color of the year from Pantone: Ultra Violet

2018 Color of the Year: Ultra Violet

While last year’s color of the year, Greenery, evoked rejuvenation and revitalization, Ultra Violet is all about exploration and reflection.

“Ultra Violet symbolizes experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets.”

- Pantone

It’s so fitting that the imagery on Pantone’s site is reminiscent of galaxies and the cosmos. The rich purple color emanates a mystical feel that makes you want to explore what lies beyond!

We put together a color board of flowers inspired by Pantone’s color of the year, Ultra Violet. You’ll see a range of flowers – from hyacinths to tulips – that all have beautiful violet purple shades.

If you love the color purple, we hope you enjoy our Ultra Violet flower board. And if you’re planning a wedding or event, we hope our color board gives you some inspiration on flowers you can use to incorporate some Ultra Violet into your event decor!

Let us know what you think about this year’s color of the year and if you want to see previous year’s color of the year boards, just take a look here or check out all our color boards! We look forward to sharing more posts on all things flowers with you on our blog this coming year and if there is anything you want to see or learn more about, just leave us a comment below or drop us a line!

Cheers!
Ellie

I would be really excited to see black and white color series, or simply black. Gold is also good but i think all the gold are either dyed or artificial. But would definitely looking forward to see more color scheme! you did a great job!!!

Hi August! Thanks for stopping by! A black flower board is a great idea! There are not too many natural true black flowers but there are plenty of dyed and near-black flowers that are available. Gold would also be great and you’re right that most would be artificial but it would still be something people might like to see! We’ll definitely look to add these in the future! We do have a white flowers board, but it was one of our first color boards and so it could use some updating. You can find the original one here: http://www.flowermuse.com/blog/our-favorite-white-flowers/

Ultra Violet Flower collection is amazing, I loved the carnation’s colour as it’s a bit on the darker side, a very good combination of purple and violet.

    Thanks for your ideas.
